In September 1990, my family got a satellite dish, as dad had read through his import magazines that there was this cartoon called The Simpsons, and Sky/BSkyB were due to air it in September.
Needless to say we taped every episode and it was a glorious lifter-upper to watch every Sunday, at 6pm, a new episode, which part-banished the back-to-school-tomorrow-blues.
When we got rather a lot of tapes, after some mild harassment from dad, in '96 I made us some VHS covers to help our home-taped collection look a bit more presentable...
